These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BiteSafe ("the App"), developed by Digik Labs. By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of the App

BiteSafe is a food product information tool that provides health scores, nutritional analysis, and ingredient insights. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

2. Not Medical Advice

The information provided by BiteSafe is for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical, nutritional, or dietary advice.

• Health scores are calculated using published algorithms (Nutri-Score, NOVA, UK FSA) and may not account for your specific health conditions.
• Additive risk assessments are based on EFSA, WHO, and published research — they are not diagnoses.
• AI-generated insights are produced by a language model and may contain inaccuracies.
• Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for dietary decisions, especially if you have allergies, medical conditions, or are on medication.

3. Data Accuracy

Product information is sourced from:

• Open Food Facts — a community-maintained, open-source food database. Data may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
• On-device OCR — text recognition from photographed labels, which may contain errors due to image quality, lighting, or print formatting.

Digik Labs makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data displayed in the App. You should always verify critical information (especially allergens) by reading the physical product label.

4. Subscriptions

• BiteSafe offers optional premium subscriptions ("Premium" and "AI Insights") with monthly and annual billing options.
• Subscriptions are billed through Google Play and auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Google Play settings.
• Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy.

5. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, scoring algorithms, and content, is the intellectual property of Digik Labs. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to interfere with the App's servers or infrastructure
• Scrape, harvest, or extract data from the App by automated means
• Misrepresent the App's output as certified medical or regulatory advice

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Digik Labs shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, damages from reliance on health scores, ingredient data, or AI-generated content.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
